Your Doctor Who patterns are FANTASTIC! I am making my husband a Doctor Who Quilt for our anniversary(my first quilt ever) and they have been so amazing and helpful! Thank you :)

  2. Becky (central oregon) says:

I love the wonky castles and know just the little boy to make them for!!

  3. Cheryl says:

I made your Star of David for a friend. I enlarged it to 7.5″. She loved hers. I have a picture at the bottom of my first post of the year. Thanks. I’m now leading someone else to your site.

    • Soma Acharya says:

Thank you so much for sharing! I made my block for a friend too. Your Star of David looks beautiful. With your permission, I would love to show it here.

      Happy Sewing,

I love your wonky castles. Can’t wait for October, November, and December BOM. Do you have any suggestions for colors or types of prints to use? I am terrible about selecting such things. I have no artistic ability, but I can follow directions :-). Thank you. -pw

    • Soma Acharya says:

Thank you, Phyllis! Since each castle sits against a background, I would start by picking a few background fabrics.
I used different shades and textures of brown, tan, yellow, grey and blacks for mine to represent sandstone and granite. They also pop well against my background. You could pick any color you like and see what they look like against your background fabric.
For prints, I used prints that represent stone. I also love curls, so I added a couple of prints with that as well.
Stonehenge fabrics by Northcott would be a good choice too for these castles.

I hope this gets you started :)
      Happy sewing,

I just tried to get the swimmer paper piecing pattern from Craftsy. I did all the proper things but ended up with error listed so do not have access to it, however, I got pay pal confirmation. I don’t want to loose my $3.00 and have no pattern. My granddaughter is on high school swim team and has competed with the YMCA for year so it is very important for me to have.

Can you help with this? I’ve had no response from Craftsy’s help.

    Thank you.

    • Soma Acharya says:

      Hi Carol,

I sent you an email with the pattern file. Let me know if you have any problem. Congratulations to your granddaughter for her amamzing achievement!

      Happy Sewing,

  6. Barbara Hamm says:

I downloaded the bear Cub paper piecing pattern, but can’t enlarge it to print it out in the correct size to make it. It is about
2 3/4 inches square on the download. Can you help me?

    • Soma Acharya says:

      Hi Barbara,

Sounds like you are only printing the first page. The image on the first page, which is part of the sewing guide, is 2 3/4 inches square . If you print rest of the pages (total of 6) with scaling turned off (print it at 100%), you will get the correct 10″ size.

      Hope this helps.

My daughter is having her Year 11 Ball this year. The equivalent of the US Prom. I am beading her gown and she found the Tardis, so I am now putting it inside the hem of her gown. Thank you and I will most certainly give you and your site credit.

    • Soma Acharya says:

Oh wow!! Thank you for sharing this with me. That will one fun Ball gown! Please share a photo if you don’t mind :)

  8. I’m really searching for a modern train. I’m completing a centennial quilt and would love to include a train? I’d give full credit to the designer on the back of the quilt and refer to the designer in any blog posting I do regarding the quilt and the train part of it.

    • Soma Acharya says:

Thank you so much! It will be perfectly fine for you to use the pattern for your quilt as long as you give me credit for the pattern.

  9. Dotti says:

Thank you so much for the star of David. Happy New Year to you.

  11. I’m a former music/band teacher and I have been collecting music themed fabrics for years. Now I know what to do with them. Thanks so much for the pattern!

    • Soma Acharya says:

      Hi Pam,

I am very glad you like the pattern. I play music myself, that’s what inspired me to make it. I am going to make a Four Seasons piece with it someday.
