A Small Exihibition

Today I started writing this post about an embroidery I am working on, but I have been wanting to make this other post for a while now showing off the beautiful works made by others on Flickr.  Enjoy!!

My friend aalia7 made this for the Fandom Mashup challenge held by Fandom In Stitches.  She incorporated the Tardis pattern into her own design of Spinners End from Harry Potter.  Look at the beautiful shading of light she did with different color thread!

I love the beautiful block Quiltmoose made from the Weathertop pattern.  I adore her choice of fabric.

Starlight Diverging by KMJ_creations.  I love the contrast on this block!  So beautiful!

I love the little embroidery my friend Regina (pieksdi) added to this Halls of Khazad-dum block.  I also love how she added depth and dimension to this block with the use of different fabrics.

Karen in Tucson made this fantastic quilt from blocks from the Something Wicked This Way Comes blog hop!!  I love how she joined the blocks together.

I am off to finish some design and work on some embroidery this weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Starlight Converging – Quilt Pattern And Blog Hops

starlight converging paper piecing pattern

Pattern is available on Craftsy and Etsy

I was going to share the violin quilt pattern today as I had already finished drafting the pattern last week.  But then the weekend happened and new ideas popped into my head and I never even got to sew the block.  So I am moving the violin to next week and sharing a brand new star quilt pattern called Starlight Converging.  The hardest part of this pattern was coming up with its name!

I finished it Monday night so I could take it to my quilt group meet on Tuesday.  I am going to quilt it with color-matched thread – I haven’t decided if I want to machine-quilt or hand-quilt it.

It’s an easy pattern to make.  You can pick up Starlight Converging quilt pattern from Craftsy or Etsy.

Lord Of The Rings Block Of The Month

There are a couple of other events I am participating in next year that I wanted to share with you.  My friend Lilja is hosting a Block Of The Month on Lord Of The Rings at Fandom In Stitches and I am one of the designers.  How exciting is that!!  I started designing my pattern already and can hardly wait to see what the others will be making!  I will keep you posted as the day gets closer.

My Favorite Block Quilt Along @ Persimon Dreams

I am also joining My Favorite Block Quilt Along at Persimon Dreams.  I am going to write a tutorial on my favorite method of course, paper piecing.  My day is 4th of April.  I am sure I will end up with designing a new block for this event.

There are so many great blocks that popped up in the Flickr group for the Something Wicked This Way Comes blog hop.  Here is the first finished quilt-top by Littledaintylady made from those blocks.  She did such a fabulous job!!!

Back to the sewing machine I go!
Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Paper Pieced Blog Hop Halloween 2012

Welcome to the Wrap Party of the Something Wicked This Way Comes Halloween Blog Hop!  I have a bonus border pattern for you, along with prizes and a showcasing of all the patterns.

A Halloween quilt would not be finished without a bewitching border to tie all the blocks together.  Leslie has the perfect Dogtooth border pattern for that!

Thank you everyone who participated in this blog hop by sewing along, making the blocks as the patterns became available.  Thank you for sharing your photos and please continue to share them on the flickr group.

Carin Pictures won the $25 gift certificate from Quilt Essentials for her block Haunted House –

A fantastic group of designers joined me on this blog hop.  For some of them, this was the first paper piecing pattern they designed, but you are unable to tell who they are when you look at all the patterns together.   Mutual encouragement,  help with computer technicalities, suggestions were abundant within the group.  We got to know each other pretty well through this blog hop.  I couldn’t thank you all enough for making my first blog hop experience so wonderful!

So without further ado, I present to you a showcasing of all the patterns from this Halloween Blog Hop!

Halloween Paper Pieced Blog Hop – Witchy Sue

Witch Sue Halloween Paper Piecing Pattern

“And if it’s around October twentieth and everything smoky-smelling and the sky orange and ash gray at twilight, it seems Halloween will never come in a fall of broomsticks and a soft flap of bedsheets around corners.

But one strange wild dark long year, Halloween came early. ”
