My original weeping angel was a 10″ block. I thought I would enlarge that block to 12″ for the Doctor Who quilt with a white border as though you are looking at it through a window. Except, there was a nagging feeling at the back of my head that the scale of the block just would not look right beside all the other 12″ blocks.
Then one day as I was spreading all the blocks out on the carpet which is also my “design wall”, my husband said “you are going to make another weeping angel, right? That one is too small!” My short and curt answer: “No!” But I knew he was right! So as I was packing all my stuff into boxes before the move, I snuck in one last block – a 12″ weeping angel. I can assure you that the 12″ was not any easier to make than the 10″ block.
Since we moved to the new place, all the boxes are unpacked and I have painted the two smaller bedrooms so far. As I was finishing painting the first room, we decided to change out the carpet before we put stuff on the shelves. As we wait for the carpet installation, it’s a bit of an organized mess around me and I am sewing and working at the dining table.
Aside from unpacking and painting, I am also taking care of this little boy who tore a claw two days after we got here and spent a whole day at the surgery. We were so worried. We think he looks adorable with that blue “shoe” and the blue-ribboned “bonnet”. He sticks to me when I am sitting down or when I go to bed, so I can take his collar off. This way we are spending a lot of quality time together. His stitches are being removed today.
That’s about it! I will see you on Valentine’s Day to finally show you what I made for the Hugs and Kisses blog hop.
