Board A Ship – Quilt Pattern

I traveled by a ship only once to get to Orkney, Scotland from the northernmost post on the mainland.  It was not a cruise ship, just a passenger and cargo ship so the amenities were pretty minimum.  We were there in midst of winter, and it felt like we were going on an arctic expedition.  So I made a ship quilt pattern, keeping that experience in mind.

It was pretty late yesterday when started working on this one and I seriously didn’t think I would finish it.  But as I started sewing and it started taking shape, I wanted to see the finished block.  So here it is.  I really like the dark red fabric I used for the the ship.  It has a old metal feel to it.

Board A Ship quilt pattern is available at Craftsy and Etsy of course.
